Deck: Tarot Disassembled

The Empress:

Today is Dolly Day, and what better card to represent her than The Empress!! I swear, this is where Tarot always gets me! She planted so many seeds for change and nurtured her community. She would never have worn a crown or held a scepter but she certainly earned them. I feel like this is your sign to carry big Dolly energy through your weekend, and for each situation ask, “What would Dolly do?”

The Lovers Rv:

There is a partnership on the rocks, and pressure is building beneath the surface. There are a lot of dualities that are in play, contributing to conflict: the tree of forbidden knowledge vs the burning bush of divine revelation; the blessing angel vs the duplicitous snake; the shining sun vs the dark clouds. This tells me that your perspectives are completely opposite. WWDD: Approach the issues with care and understanding. Meet on common ground and make fair compromises. 

Two of Wands Rv:

Plans are on hold, which might be adding pressure to the lovers. Things were supposed to be well on the way already but obstacles have caused delays that no one planned for. The artist of this deck chose to show that even in reverse, there is an upright rose, which says to me that things are still developing that will bloom and grow. WWDD: Patience is key.

Temperance:

Everything right now is give and take. Sometimes you give more, and sometimes you take more, which is especially important to acknowledge in relation to The Lovers. The imagery strongly reflects elements from all three of the previous cards, especially The Empress. Be generous like Dolly and that generosity will flow back to you. The pressure from The Lovers will abate. Everything will balance out for your highest good!

The Fool:

It’s time to jump in with both feet! You won’t know whether you’ll succeed unless you just GO for it. Whenever you take the leap with The Fool, it’s worth the trip. Follow your enthusiasm and learn as much as you can.

The Moon:

Your keen intuition has a major part to play in guiding you through this venture. Pay attention to any signs or symbols you see as you go about your business, like your lucky number, favorite animal, etc. You might even experience instances of déjà vu. These are all signs you’re moving in the right direction.

Nine of Swords Rv:

Based on last week’s forecast, you are now emerging from that stressful period and letting go of anxiety. You are much less worried about the future and are in a great position to embrace The Fool above.

This is your fresh new outlook. The Fool energy is feeding your optimism and encouraging your inspiration. You are finally getting into your groove and you are ready for new adventures. Find things to do that feed your creativity and be open to new ideas.

Four of Wands:

You have solid family and community bonds. I am reading The World as a direct influence on this card as a way to illustrate that these are people who have stood by you through many cycles of growth, change, hardship, and celebration.  It is important to reach out this week as worries arise via the Nine of Swords.

The World:

This is the card of everything outside human control. The world turns and life continues its seasons and cycles regardless of what we have planned. Some of the changes approaching are going to be stressful, but remember nothing lasts.

Nine of Swords:

This is a time of anxiety, sleepless nights, general worry. Whether it’s material, emotional, or spiritual, you have your people walking the road with you. Whatever the strife, it will not take long to resolve, as I see The Star on the immediate horizon.

The Star:

This is the glimmer that lights the way through a dark period. Allow yourself to feel hopeful and excited for what’s on the other side of this stressful period. This isn’t something you need to strive for or force; this is what The World is bringing you as it spins around day by day. Hold tight!

Three of Wands Rv:

You stepped out of your comfort zone and now you are… uncomfortable. Not every journey in life is a vacation, but the effort of navigating this new reality is worth the effort. You are processing a lot of new experiences, but the main point is that you’re out there trying.

You are learning to nurture yourself and listen to your own instincts. As a result you are creating healthy boundaries to succeed in this new realm. Keep expressing yourself authentically, and pay attention to when to protect your heart.

The Empress:

You are also receiving external nurturing from people with great emotional depth and maturity. You feel understood by them and they are supporting your growth and decisions.

As you are internalizing your new life experiences from the Three of Wands Rv, you are establishing a longer-term view and what you want for your future. Don’t let bad experiences hold you back. Keep investing in your talents and relying on The Empress(es) in your life to guide and help you.

Seven of Cups:

You have many good options to choose from, though none is absolutely perfect. They all require some amount of effort from you in addition to some outside support. You are weighing your options: think things through, follow each option to its logical conclusion *without rose colored glasses.

Eight of Cups:

There are two ways to read this. Either you recently walked away from a counterproductive (maybe destructive) situation that opened up all the new options above, OR the opportunities will not present themselves until you close the door on this crap situation. Close that door to open the window of opportunity… or whatever the saying is.

Wheel of Fortune:

The wheel is a “force majeure”, the influence of the world outside your control. It is turning with the season, and also bringing you progress. We are coming into autumn, and things will begin to calm down again so you can really focus and ground yourself in the here and now.

Ten of Pentacles:

Autumn is harvest season, and this is the perfect card for the culmination of your efforts above. You are releasing or have released something that was dragging you down, resulting in many new options. Whichever one you choose, the Wheel is turning in your favor. Well-earned rewards are coming and will be bountiful!

The Moon:

The night obscures the world, while the moon illuminates the shapes and forms around you. You must rely on all your other senses to understand your surroundings. This is a moment where you are operating “in the dark”, and you must rely on more than what your eyes perceive. It is important to follow your hunches and trust your gut!

High Priestess:

This is the queen of intuition and manifesting! You are being called to shift and transform energy into reality. In a practical sense, you forge a new path. In a spiritual sense, you influence the entire vibe and people will follow your lead. You don’t know the outcome, but you know the next right step to take. 

Eight of Cups:

Cut your losses. Don’t fall for the “sunk cost fallacy”. Just because you already spent so much time, energy, and/or money on a project or relationship does not mean you should continue to invest in it. Let go of what is no longer good for you. If this project/relationship is draining you and you’re not getting your emotional and spiritual batteries recharged, it’s time to walk away.

Continuing to feed into this project/relationship will result in deep resentment and leave you unfulfilled. However, if you apply the lessons from the first two cards by following your intuition and making good choices in the moment, you *will manifest something far more amazing and fulfilling than what you walked away from. It takes much more than meets the eye to grow and develop the way you want. You might be feeling like it’s an endless game of whack-a-mole where one thing is answered but it opens up two new questions. 

Wheel of Fortune Rv:

This is the external influence on your Seven Pentacles Rv. Most of the things impacting your efforts are far beyond your control. It could be a matter of not finding the right resources, surprise priorities eating up your time, even the weather spoiling plans. Don’t go tilting at windmills, friend! Roll with the punches and keep putting in the effort. The Wheel is always turning.

Soon enough you will find yourself released from this frustrating and stagnant phase. You will feel the limitations evaporate, and your mindset will become more focused and positive.

Ace of Wands:

A brilliant new flash of creativity and inspiration is beginning to glow inside you! Seize this time to ideate, daydream, put your ideas down on paper and visualize the best possible outcome.

Eight of Swords Rv:

This card is the culmination of the previous three. This is the next step that shows you shedding the restrains of your self-limiting thoughts and self-sabotage. This growth has been painful and sometimes lonely, but you are coming through it stronger, wiser, and energized with new ideas and plans!

This is the week for emotional breakthroughs, letting go, and healing!

Five of Swords Rv:

Now is the time for reconciling conflicts or making amends for injuries to others. It does not matter that you did not intend to cause harm, it matters that the other person felt an emotional injury. Patching things up with words will not be enough; making amends means changing the behavior.

Nine of Cups:

You are experiencing a moment of contentment in life and your gratitude grows by the day. You are feeling thankful for all the little mundane things that bring you peace each day. Tune into this impulse and vibe with the peace.

Three of Swords Rv:

In addition to making amends and practicing gratitude, you are also releasing your own pain and letting go of resentments. You are dusting off old emotional detritus that is holding you back from spiritual growth. Yes, other people and situations hurt you, but those moments do not define you. Accept the emotional glow-up of the Nine of Cups to help you let go.

The Sun Rv:

The Sun is rising again in your life and you are embracing optimism for the first time in a while. You may still be hesitant to full let the sun shine in, but you are making a great start! Keep making healthy choices, be accountable for your actions, stay grateful, put down the old baggage, and enjoy the sun’s glow!

You have persevered through many trials and challenges. You have exhibited strength in the face of adversity. Rather than drain you, this has lit a fire under you and ignited your strong motivation. You can’t sit still even if you want to.

That’s not to say you have been having a good time. Your motivating factors have been rooted in anxiety, stress, worry, and even some resentment. The more worried you are, the more driven you are. But you have not stopped to consider all the adversity you faced through the Nine of Wands, and you need to step back and understand you’ve done everything you *reasonably could. Without this perspective, you will continue to lose sleep.

As you ease off the gas of the Nine of Swords, you will transition from a defensive position to be more proactive. Your confidence will return, along with new ideas and ambitions. You will still experience restlessness and impatience. Continue to be mindful of the Nine of Wands moments where you overcame obstacles. Let those moments remind you not to get frustrated with people and situations you see as slowing you down or getting in the way. 

Six of Wands:

Your hard work is about to PAY OFF! Your experiences up to this point are culminating into finally achieving hard-won success. You’re not doing it for recognition, but the accolades will follow.
